Eligibility
ManNasia Altruistic Home Care Services provides adult companion services to a person age 18 or older with non-medical care, supervision, and socialization.
Cover Services
Adult companion services cover services that help a person work toward a therapeutic or community integration goal in their support plan.
Examples
The adult companion may attend a movie with the person to practice coping skills and manage their social anxiety. Go with the person to a community event to reduce their social isolation. Play a board game with the person to enhance their fine motor skills. Provide verbal instructions or cues to the person to help them complete tasks. Assist or supervise the person with tasks such as laundry, light housekeeping, meal preparation, and shopping.
Our Adult Companion Support Services include:
- Attending a movie with the person to practice coping skills to manage their social anxiety
- Going with the person to a community event to reduce their social isolation
- Playing board games with the person to enhance their fine motor skills
- Providing verbal instructions or cues to the person to help them complete a task
- Accompanying the person to church and other religious events of their choice
- Assisting or supervising the person (s) with tasks, such as laundry, and practicing budgeting skills.
Not Covered Services
Adult companion services do not cover:
Non-equipment and Equipment Services
- Activity fees (e.g., movie tickets)
- Assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Hands-on nursing care
- Socialization that is for recreation or pleasure only.
- Services provided by individuals related to the person by blood, marriage, or adoption (unless the person meets requirements in the 245D exclusion section)
